Poets’ Corner – by Philip
From our Resident Philip at Tudor Village:
There was a time, some years ago, when I was trim and fit,
Played golf and tennis, even bowls. I had no time to sit.
I used to be assertive then, but now I’m getting old,
I find it’s so much easier to just do what I’m told.
Back then I wasn’t married. I got into a lot of strife;
But then that’s not surprising, I didn’t have a wife.
I live in ‘Tudor Village’ now; I have no need to hurry,
I still get into trouble, but have no need to worry.
At ninety five, I’m sure I’ve earned the right of all us ‘oldies’
To be a pain, do what we like, and treat ourselves to ‘coldies’.
Thank you Philip – well written and funny too!
