More than 100 residents at Tudor Village came together on Wednesday 17th June for a special afternoon tea fundraiser in support of cancer research.
A wonderful afternoon was enjoyed by all at the Tudor Village Cancer Council Biggest Afternoon Tea fundraiser, with funds raised through craft group daffodil sales, raffles, generous donations, and support from our community groups and sponsors.
A heartfelt thank you to the Tudor Village Men’s Shed, Craft Group, Devotions Group, Bowls Club, and our generous sponsors, Ashmore’s Automotive and Patrick’s Electrical, for their valuable contributions.
The Tudor Village Biggest Afternoon Tea raised nearly $5,000, with funds going towards the Cancer Council's life‑saving support for the almost 1 in 2 Australians impacted by cancer.
This community fundraising event highlights the strong sense of connection within the Tudor Village retirement village and the ongoing commitment of residents to support life saving causes.
Residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea featuring a selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries, complemented by sparkling wine, beer, orange juice, tea and coffee.
The guests were entertained by talented singer Anthony Gerace, who generously donated his time and shared a wonderful selection of contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, and easy-listening favourites from artists including The Beatles, The Seekers, Josh Groban, John Denver, and Tina Turner.

Guests were invited to further support cancer research fundraising efforts by purchasing beautifully crafted hand-made daffodils, created by the Tudor Village craft group using felt, ribbon and buttons. These daffodils became a meaningful symbol of the community’s support for cancer research.
A sincere thank you also to the Tudor Village Social Committee for organising such a successful event, and to the dedicated ladies who worked tirelessly behind the scenes preparing and serving food and drinks.
