Tudor Village recently opened its doors to a group of newly graduated film students from the Victorian College of the Arts, who chose the village as the setting for their romantic dramedy, Senior Prom. It's easy to see why, with its charming streetscapes, lush green surroundings and modern Community Centre, Tudor Village offered exactly the kind of warm, inviting backdrop the production called for. The result was a filming day that brought a little Hollywood magic to Lilydale.
The excitement wasn't just behind the camera. A number of Tudor Village's wonderful residents jumped at the chance to appear as extras in the film, bringing genuine character and enthusiasm to the production. Their involvement added an authentic, heartfelt touch to the project and a whole lot of fun to the day. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and made the experience so memorable for the crew.
The film is the work of a fully volunteer crew, and Tudor Village was proud to play a role in helping these emerging filmmakers put their skills into practice beyond the classroom. Gaining on-set experience in a real location, with real people, is invaluable for any aspiring filmmaker, and we're glad our village could provide that opportunity at such an important stage of their careers.
The story doesn't end when the cameras stop rolling. Tudor Village has already put in a request for a special screening of Senior Prom once the film is complete, and we can't wait to watch it together. Stay tuned for updates, because this is one premiere our residents will definitely want front-row seats for.
