Lift in property market makes it a great time to downsize to Tudor Village
Local house prices are back on the rise, making it an excellent time to sell your family house and downsize to a beautifully appointed home at Tudor Village. According to the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV), the median price for a house in Lilydale increased by 4.5% to $690,000 during the June Quarter 2019.
Over a five-year period, the Lilydale median house price has increased by 23.9% (or $165,000). According to the REIV, houses in Lilydale also sell relatively quickly – on average within 38 days of going onto the market, against a metropolitan average of 46 days. Recent REIV figures put house prices in Ringwood up 0.5% in the June Quarter 2019, with houses in Kilsyth up 1.8% over the same period.
Tudor Village Sales Manager, Samantha McGrath, says the improvement in the property market makes now the “perfect time” for anyone aged 55 or over to consider making a move to either a brand new or an established home at Tudor Village. “According to realestate.com.au, almost 20 per cent of all people living in Lilydale are aged between 55 and 64, which shows how popular this area is with this age group,” Samantha says.
“By selling the family home for a good price now and moving to a new or established home at Tudor Village, most singles and couples aged 55-plus may find they can free-up money to really enjoy themselves. “Better still, they will become part of a welcoming community of like-minded people, enjoy access to an array of fantastic lifestyle facilities and have lots more time to make the most of everything the beautiful Yarra Valley has to offer.”
